DIY Pom Hat and OTK Boots

Wait, what? It’s 2016! Can’t even type these words.. we have 2 weeks left of January (insert rolling eyes emoji)!!! 2015 honestly felt like it was ripped- no pried out of my hands so it’s no surprise I’m taking advantage of every weekend and day off possible this year. I’ve been working through a lot of goals and have put this year in a mental check. So many things to accomplish and such a clean slate to start. So, let’s jump right to it. With Fashion Week vastly approaching, I’ve been doing a lot of pinning, ohhing and ahhing over trends and pieces I want to add to my wardrobe. I spotted a few beanies this winter season with those cute ass little poms people have been sporting on their bags perched right at the top – gahh need! So, I thought I was slick and was SO sure I’d created a new thing: the pom baseball hat. Though a quick google search told me I was just another one of the 2 gajillion pages and images floating the internet of said pom hat. So after searching and searching for the perfect one – I realized the internet just did not have what I was looking for. Turns out, it did.. but $190 says mama can do bad all on her own (but if you’re into that kinda spending you can get yours in the links below).

So off I went, hunting for my needed materials and landed on a pom beanie from Zara ($7) and a blue baseball hat from Aldo ($15). Now, I’m not really good at math or anything but I think I came out winning on this one. Here’s how I made it: Cut pom from beanie. Hot glue gun pom onto center of baseball hat. Sew pom to the hat by sewing from the inside. Easy huh? Would you guys like to see a full-on tutorial of how I did it? Let me know in the comments section and let me know how your year is going so far. Talk soon! x, MEL
